Today’s Scripture readings have touched me greatly. All of them are as comforting as a warm cloak on a cold winter day!

A few words on Daniel: Chapters 10 – 12 are all related to the same vision and it is the last vision given to Daniel. This is the most comprehensive of all Daniel's visions. Chapter 10 introduces the angel that has come to Daniel to reveal the interpretation of the vision and chapters 11-12 describes and interprets the actual vision. About the delay of delivering the vision for 21 days mentioned in Daniel 10:13-14, we need to remember that God created all angels equally and gave them all equal powers before He created earth and mankind. Satan and the demons were among the angels created by God and they resided in Heaven with God, as did Michael and Gabriel and the other angels. However, they were cast out from Heaven and down to earth when Satan declared their power to be as great as the power of God their creator, but they were not stripped of their powers when God cast them down to earth. We know from our study of Ephesians 6:10-17 that even today there is a constant struggle going on between God’s holy angels and Satan and his unholy demon angels and also between we Christians and Satan and his demons. That’s why Paul instructed us to put on and constantly wear the armor of God to help us escape from the powers of Satan and the demons. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Psalms 121 is awesome, beautiful and wonderful! This is a psalm that we would be wise to read often or memorize and carry in our heart.

The verses in 1 John that jumped out at me today are 1 John 3:5-6, “But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him KEEPS ON SINNING. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him”. It’s not enough just to repent of our sins but we need to make a conscious effort to turn from our sins.

Hope all of you have been as blessed today as much or more than I have by the reading of God’s Word!

God Bless!
Pat
