First, I thank you Mike...your insights have blessed me this year. I look forward to next year with hope and anticipation of what my Lord will teach me.
I share in as few words as possible my first hand expereince with the feast of the bridegroom. As my grandfather was dying he was so excited because he kept telling my grandmother that the bridgroom was coming and he could see the table with the feast lying on the table. The nurse in the room kept saying I am sorry that he is not comprehending anything as he draws closer to death. With glee in my grandmother's heart she kept telling the nurse that my grandfather WAS comprehending and that Jesus was on his way to take my grandfather to the feast. My grandfather died with his last words being He is coming, the Bridegroom is coming and the feast is prepared!! A few days later my grandmother led the nurse to the Lord! ...God is good and yes, He is coming!!!

Mike and everyone,
can't believe it's December 28th already!
I have had the privilege from January till now to read the Bible daily by following this blog.
Thank the Lord for His grace!
Thank you Mike for daily investing your time and energy to serve us and serve God!
These two verses give me inspiration and important reminders:
Psalm 147:19-20 (Amplified Bible)
19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel.
20 He has not dealt this way with any [other] nation; They have not known [understood, appreciated, heeded, or cherished] His ordinances. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
I learned this from Bible.org, Psalm 147: The God of Grace and Greatness, by Steven J. Cole, in his words:
'These last two verses provide a contrast between Israel, which had received God’s words, statutes, and ordinances, and other nations, which had not. (2 Yes, there are great benefits! First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God. - Romans 3:2)
This leads to a final exhortation, “Praise the Lord.”
Of all God’s blessings, none are greater than the fact that God has chosen to reveal Himself to us through His written word.
Without God’s written revelation, the Bible, we could only speculate about who God is, how we can know Him, who we are, what is our purpose on earth, and how we can have our sins forgiven.'
Here in the western world it may be easy for us to take for granted we have access to a Bible/Bibles and muliple Bible study resources.
Pastor Cole's article reminded me that that is not the case in other countries/places - they may not have a Bible in their mother tongue, and no study helps at all.
May God remind us that having access to His Word in a language we understand and feel comfortable with, and having almost unlimited Bible study helps on the Internet - is His grace.
May we not take this grace for granted.
May we each day diligently read, meditate upon, memorize His Word,
and do our best to apply these eternal Truth in our lives!
May God help us in learning His Word!

gratefully,
Joyce
